Development of gender responsive pedagogy training module and materials
The assignment contributes to the broader objectives of the GRIVET Project by strengthening a gender-responsive and inclusive TVET ecosystem in Bangladesh and supporting the participation of girls, women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQI+ individuals, ethnic minorities, and other marginalized learners in safe, equitable, respectful, and empowering learning environments.
The consultancy assignment for the development and adaptation of the Gender-Responsive Pedagogy (GRP) Training Module and Materials under the GRIVET Project was successfully completed by R & D Consulting Limited (RDCL) in close collaboration with UCEP Bangladesh. The assignment resulted in a comprehensive, practical, and context-specific 40-hour training package comprising 10 interlinked modules, supported by facilitator guidance, session plans, presentations, practical exercises, and assessment tools. The participatory process of desk review, gap analysis, consultation, content development, validation, revision, and Training of Trainers (ToT) ensured that the final materials were technically sound, relevant to the Bangladesh TVET context, and responsive to the needs of trainers and diverse learners. The completed package provides practical guidance for integrating gender equality, social inclusion, safeguarding, GBV prevention, learner-centered pedagogy, and inclusive communication into everyday TVET teaching and institutional practices. The successful three-day ToT further strengthened the capacity of UCEP personnel to facilitate and apply the GRP approach. Overall, the assignment has established a strong foundation for institutionalizing gender-responsive and inclusive pedagogy within UCEP’s TVET programmes. Continued application, coaching, monitoring, and periodic updating of the training package will be important to sustain the results and contribute to a safer, more equitable, and inclusive TVET environment for all learners.
